Parents and Friends for Armadale

Hi everyone,

The disco is on tonight - but I’m sure your kids wouldn’t let you forget this one.  Have fun everyone and get your glow on!!!

Trivia Night

Save the Date - Friday 31st August

The disco might be the event of the year for the kids, but the Trivia Night is the event of the year for us parents!  Put the date in your diary now, and start Googling/Op Shopping for your costume.  This year’s theme is 007!!

Will you go as Bond himself, or one of your favourite Bond characters, Villains or Bond Girls – M, Miss Moneypenny, Goldfinger, Mr Big, Dr No, Pussy Galore, Hugo Drax, Jaws, Holly Goodhead – the list is endless.  Or will you dress in the glitz, glamour or theme from one of your favourite movies – Casino Royale, Skyfall, Diamonds are Forever, Live and Let Die, Goldfinger….  so many possibilities!!  More information to come in term 3.

Seeking Donations for Trivia Night

And while you’re thinking all things Trivia Night, please put some thought into items, services or experiences you, your friends, family or colleagues might like to donate to create exposure for their businesses, and to help us raise funds.  The Trivia Night is our largest fundraiser of the year, and this year we will be putting all funds raised from the Trivia Night, together with funds that were raised from the Mother’s Day Lunch, towards an overhaul and upgrade to our library for everyone to enjoy.   Please see attached letter for further information if you are able to contribute.

Call for Event Managers /  Volunteers

The PFA couldn’t put on the events and raise much needed funds for the school without the help of our parents.  We all volunteer our time in bringing our families fun, engaging, and meaningful events and activities – and we all have fun doing it!  We understand that everyone is busy with jobs, lives and families, but if we don’t have enough volunteers, the organising of these events falls back on the handful of parents who do always put their hands up to help.  With some of our regular volunteers having to take more of a back seat or leave the school when their kids do, it leaves big holes to fill with managing some of the events, and as such, we are in need of some Event

Managers and helpers for the following events in Terms 3 & 4:

¨ Father’s Day stall / activity – Wednesday 29th August

¨ Fun Run - to be held in October)

¨ Election Day Sausage Sizzle and Cake Stall - 24th November)

¨ Family Fun Night (to be held in December)

It would be greatly appreciated if you would consider being involved in managing or helping out with these events.  You could rally some other parents from your year level together and make it a fun project to do together – as the team of mums did for the Mother’s Day Lunch.  The kids love knowing that their parents are involved, and they love being involved with organising the events too.  We only have a small committee this year, and it is important to us to continue to make these events great for everyone, and continue to raise much needed funds for the school, but we can’t do it without our volunteers.  Please email if you are willing to put your hand up.  You wont be doing it all on your own, we are all here to help each other.
